Professional Diploma in Environmental, Health & Safety Management

The Professional Diploma in Environmental, Health & Safety Management is a professionally focused programme designed to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of environmental management, occupational health, workplace safety, and effective risk management.

The programme covers the principles of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, environmental protection, emergency preparedness, and the implementation and monitoring of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems. It emphasises practical risk control, legal and regulatory compliance, worker participation, and continual improvement in workplace performance.

Designed for learners from diverse industrial and professional backgrounds, the programme provides a foundation for applying internationally relevant EHS principles across construction, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, healthcare, and other workplace environments. It also introduces recognised management system frameworks, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, while recognising that legal requirements vary across jurisdictions.

Upon successful completion, learners should be able to identify and evaluate EHS risks, recommend appropriate control measures, contribute to incident prevention and environmental protection, and support the development and continual improvement of workplace EHS management practices.

The qualification is assessed through a combination of written assignments, case studies and practical assessments. Learners must successfully complete the required assessments and achieve the minimum pass mark to be awarded the diploma.
